Let’s take a look at the detailed step-by-step process – You can find the oblique key usually located to the left of the right “SHIFT” key on your keyboard. To insert fractions in Google Slides, simply use the oblique (/) sign on the keyboard between the numbers to convert them into a fraction. Make sure to check out my other article as well for more tips and tricks! I have covered the topic of writing fractions in Google Slides in great detail in another article. Google has made this feature so easy that you won’t even need to use the special characters feature. Writing fractions on Google Slides is one of the easiest things to do. When making a presentation on mathematics, writing fractions is inevitable. Then, in the window that pops up, search for “ superscript“. To superscript text in Google Slides, simply click on “ Insert” and choose “ Special Characters” from the dropdown menu. Insert the necessary symbols to write the required math equation. For instance, if you want to add a “greater than equal to” sign, just type that in the search bar. You can also search for the symbol directly in the search bar.Select ‘symbol’ from the left drop-down menu and ‘Maths’ from the right drop-down menu. Then, double click inside the text box to be in edit mode. Insert a “ Text Box” on a blank slide. Here’s how you can insert math equations in Google Slides using the built-in feature: You can use mathematical symbols from the built-in feature or you can use add-ons. How to Insert Math Equations in Google Slides?Īs I’ve mentioned above, there are two methods to insert math equations in Google slides. I shall be discussing a couple of the most useful ones later in the article.įor now, let’s understand how to insert a math equation in Google Slides. These add-ons are full of features and very user-friendly. There are a few handy add-ons in the Google workspace marketplace for writing mathematical symbols with ease. There was a time when you could write equations in Google docs and add that to your Slide but Google has removed that feature.Īnother way to add equations in Google slides is using third-party add-ons. You can write pretty much any math equation and formula using symbols provided as part of the “Special Characters” feature in Google Slides. Luckily Google Slides has an inline feature that allows the users to add symbols. Furthermore, the sheer number of these symbols used makes it impossible to add any keyboard shortcuts either. The normal keyboard doesn’t contain any keys for math symbols. The problem arises when you have to include any mathematical equations or chemistry formulae in your slides. Preparing a slide is nothing complicated If it contains normal text and images. The best part is – it is only $16.5 a month, but you get to download and use as many presentation designs as you like! I personally use it from time-to-time, and it makes my task of making beautiful presentations really quick and easy! Can you Insert an Equation in Google Slides? So, stick around till the end with me to learn the basics of adding equations in Google slides!Ī Quick Note Before We Begin – if you want to make jaw-dropping presentations, I would recommend using one of these Presentation Designs. I will also discuss adding chemical formulae in Google Slides. In the rest of this article, I will explain how to use the built-in feature and add-ons to add equations in Google slides. You can either choose the category or simply search for the symbol by name and build the equation. Then, select the “Special Characters” option from the dropdown. You can use the “Special Characters” option to insert equations in Google Slides. Google Slides is usually amazing! But, when it comes to adding mathematical symbols and equations in Google Slides, it just feels like a hassle! If you are new to Google Slides, especially if you are a teacher or a student, you will definitely be left wondering whether you can add equations in Google Slides! I would get so anxious about my relationships that I ruined them.Īnd then came Zoloft. Okay, maybe a lot of people think about that last one. Please, please, please don’t put your purse on my furniture. I lived in a constant state of panic about things most people rarely even notice: When was the last time she washed that jacket? I have to make sure I pick up my suitcase without it touching my legs. I spent most of my twenties unable to comfortably sit on friends’ couches for fear of contamination. In addition to endlessly obsessing about finding the right partner, I fretted constantly about cleanliness. This may have been the biggest mistake of my adult life. For almost my entire twenties, I had been resisting meds because I was convinced I could “therapize” myself. Within days, I had returned to a psychiatrist’s office for the first time in seven years and was back on medication for the first time since I was 21. My mother flew out to California the next day for a “light suicide watch.” I’ve never tried to kill myself, but that’s due to familial obligation more than a lack of desire, so she probably figured it was better to be safe than sorry. The night he left me I cried uncontrollably and announced/screamed my desire to no longer live. It was the hair that broke my brain’s back, if you will. Part of the problem was that I hadn’t been taking care of my mental health as a result I lost my then boyfriend and any ability to function happily. Romantic relationships have always been my biggest trigger, and this one knocked me out. One year before what I now refer to as the “Post-it incident,” I went through a devastating break-up. I had spent so many years trying to change myself on the inside that it was exhausting to now feel pressure to do the same on the outside.Ī little more context. It’s especially hard when your appearance is tied to your career, and complete strangers feel the need to comment on any noticeable change. But like most of us, I grew up in a society where skinny = pretty, and this is a hard notion to shake. Please note: Being overweight is, of course, not inherently unattractive. But it felt a hell of a lot better than wanting to die. It was also impossible to ignore Instagram comments like “What happened to Allison” and “Damn, she really let herself go.” It did not feel good to feel unattractive. Many of the viewers on my YouTube channel had pointed it out. I’m not oblivious I knew I had gained weight. That day in the office, after my dad made me get on a scale, I weighed over 140, which is a significant difference on my 5’3” frame. Before I went on Zoloft last year, I was around 120 pounds. Gaining excess weight as a medical side effect is not fun. So Dad intervened in his own special way and urged me to change medications. Now, almost 17 years later, my family is well aware. At the time, no one had realized my chunkiness was a medical side effect. But the moment I got off Paxil, the pounds floated away and I was suddenly skinny. I spent four rather formative years (8–12) thinking I had a bad metabolism and would spend my life overweight. Sometimes these effects aren’t immediately obvious. These vary from sweatiness to sleepiness to-you guessed it-weight gain. But it felt a hell of a lot better than wanting to die.Īlthough the medications have changed throughout the years, the one unfortunate constant is the side effects. It did not feel good to feel unattractive. (“Managed” being the operative word-not to be mistaken for “flourished” or “excelled.”) There have been times where I’ve needed medication and times when I’ve managed without. I’ve had moderate to severe OCD pretty much my entire life, along with ever-present anxiety and bursts of depression. I have been on and off antidepressants since I was four years old. After a moment of deciphering, I managed to make out “125 to 135.” He announced that this was the healthy weight for my age and height and that he was pretty sure I was over it.īefore everyone starts hating on my dad for body shaming me in my family home, let me provide a little more context. I was feeling especially accomplished, and just as I was getting up to celebrate my responsibleness with my parents’ rescue dog, my dad announced there was “one more thing.” He handed me a Post-it with illegible scrawl on it and asked me to read the note aloud. I was home for Passover, sitting in my parents’ office-whenever I come back to New York, I always sneak in some financial guidance from my father. However, instead of 16 colors, I added four more. So, this is a re-working of a post from 2016 about my favorite Benjamin Moore Paint Colors. But I thought I would take a break from that to provide some variety. I’m still reading them! If you missed the news about a big change coming my way, you can read about it here.Īnd, I do want to keep talking about my new home of course, I will. And, that’s why I need to move closer to a real one!īut, Guys! Thank you again for all of your kind notes. Good God! What an eccentric nutjob I’ve become! However, Joe has become a surrogate child. Honestly, the very thought makes me want to throw up. And so he had a little sadistic fun by telling me that Joe was crying when he showed up. (And, yes, I realize that he’s outgrown his pot.)Ĭale knows how attached I am to my dear plant. Here’s Joe shortly before we left New York last May.( you have to scroll down to see him) Imagine my panic on I-91 when I realized what I had done? I called Cale, who happily said, he’d go and fetch Joe and take care of him.įor those, who don’t know who Joe is, he’s my five and a half-year-old half-dead plant. What’s worse, I didn’t even realize until I was 2/3 of the way into my trip. In my worry about getting to the dentist on time, I did forget about poor Joe. I kept looking at my GPS, and it had me arriving at my dentist, 115 miles away about five minutes before my appointment, but I hadn’t left yet! And, then, a good hour to replace the battery. It took the guy from AAA a good 90 minutes to show up. And, I made a mental note not to forget him! I took Joe out of the hot car and sat him nearby in the shade. It was hot out, but I got the car packed, including Joe, in his little spot on the floor in the passenger seat next to me. Then, in the DKT_ROADS folder, there would be two files: READ_ME.txt and gtxd.img. rar file and extract it somewhere with 7-zip. img file in your GTAIV folder.įor instance, if I wanted to install the DKT Roads texure pack, I would download the. The only tough part is downgrading to the 1040 version.įor the different texture packs, once you download and extract the files (again, in the link I placed above) you'll find a readme file which will tell you to simply replace a certain. Copy the contents of the 1040 folder into your GTAIV folder and click "Merge" and "Move and Replace" whenever it asks you about overwriting files. Once you extract it, there should be a readme file and a folder called "1040". Once you have downgraded to 1040, download the ICEnhancer mod ( mirrors [and make sure you get the 1040 version, which is the first download link listed on that page I just linked. When I followed that procedure, I made sure I made a backup of my vanilla 1070 game before I started downgrading and I made a backup of the 1040 once I finished, but before I installed ICEnhancer. This article [helped me go from 1070 to 1040 and worked perfectly for me. Is it like that for everyone, because to me that seems pretty annoying to have to do that everytime. Also, when I exit GTA IV (1040), the older social club is still running in the background and I have to manually exit out of it everytime so that steam doesn't think i"m still playing and so I can launch it again, or else steam will say the game is already running and fail. Then it would go back to the newest social club and do the same thing as the first time. Also when i launched 1040, I would get the new Rockstar social club pop up (newest one), then after selecting on or offline I would get the old version of social club asking me to accept TOS and login, again. I couldn't change GTA IV settings either in the menu (settings would instantly jump back to their old setting when changed). On YouTube, there's a video by CryZENx, who has a 4770K and a GTX 780 also, and he is able to get pretty much constant 50-60fps, while my first attempt at installing iCEnhancer 3.0 (which was a bit messy and probably didn't do it correctly) I was recieveing 20-30fps. I know there are articles out there detailing some of this stuff individually, but typicaly they are a few years old and I would like to hear from someone who has done the complete transition recently with the new iCEnhancer 3.0. Can anyone give me a recommended installation procedure (step by step) for going from GTA IV Steam Vanilla 1070 (no mods) to version 1040 and installing iCEnhancer 3.0.
